Overview
Originally the Shambhala School playground/ outdoor recreational space was considered a contaminated site with 50% of it being inaccessible to the students and general public. Turf Masters Ltd. consulted with the client group from the initial stages of the project and executed a construction plan which met all design and environmental consultant considerations.
The Shambhala project encompassed a diverse range of engaging features for user groups. All of which were designed to reflect both natural forest and urban features. A protectant barrier of specialized geotextile fabric was applied across the entire site to seal the contaminated material and all of the noted features were constructed from that layer upwards. This project reflected a positive milestone for the school and community during a challenging 2020 time period.
